Backstory
Born off the coast of the Adoulin Islands, Azula grew up in a traditional Vieran village with strict customary guidelines. As she transitioned into adulthood and assumed her tribe's matriarchal duties, she became severely withdrawn and yearned for a life of freedom and adventure.
At the age of 16 summers, Azula made the difficult decision to leave her village. During her travels, she taught herself how to fish and live off the land. She eventually migrated to Eorzea and found sanctuary in Gridania, obtaining citizenship and becoming an official adventurer.
In recent years, Azula became proficient in various tradecrafts and developed a knack for engineering. With the help of the Garlond Ironworks, she built her very own airship and named it the Aquila. She now operates as a Sky Pirate, dealing in illicit trade and treasure hunting.

Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to check out my character's website. I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV since 2014. Despite my appearance and organization, I actually just started roleplaying in early 2023. I'm still learning the ropes a little bit, so please be patient with me!
Outside of the Final Fantasy series; I really enjoy creative games like Stardew Valley, Terraria, Satisfactory, Subnautica, Ark, and Minecraft. I'll probably always love the Zelda and Elder Scrolls series as well. Outside of being a nerd; I really enjoy traveling, swimming, and visiting museums.

Question #1 » What is your preferred writing style and will you RP on Discord?

I'll typically mirror my partner's style or try to read the room a little first. My actual preference is semi-paragraph, which is around 4-7 complete sentences. I'll usually use first-person perspective with a lot of expressions or emotes. When it comes to Discord, I'll be honest and tell you that I don't really like roleplaying on it. I'm a visually driven person and enjoy in-game aspects such as clothing choices or housing where someone spent a lot of time designing a venue. If we really hit it off and find ourselves unable to meet due to time constraints, I might be willing to use Discord, but please don't count on it.

I do a little bit of everything! I've cleared several savage raids on release and recently started dipping my toes in a couple of ultimate fights. I switched my main class to Warrior at the beginning of Dawntrail and I haven't done any hardcore content since, but I'd like to return to it in the near future once I'm more comfortable with tanking. My favorite casual content is fishing, but for actual content, I would probably say open world forays like the Occult Crescent, Bozja, and Eureka. My least favorite content is PVP. Crystaline Conflict was a step in the right direction, but I just don't enjoy participating in it at all.

Unfortunately, due to it's limited capacity and invasive nature, I'm very selective and cautious about who I allow on my friend list. I'll usually need to meet you a few times or really enjoy our interactions before I'm able to commit. Sometimes people's red flags take a little while to manifest themselves and I've had some really bad experiences. My main Discord account is almost entirely dedicated to my free company, personal long-time friends, and raid static members. You're more than welcome to send me a message request or ping me in shared servers. I'll usually respond or say hello when I can!

I'd like to address the elephant in the room. I engage in both endgame content and RP/ERP equally. Unfortunately, these activities are filled with opportunities for drama and problems. If someone crosses a line with me or causes any kind of rise in my blood pressure, I will entirely remove myself from the situation without a second thought. If we're friends, I expect to be treated as equally as I treat you. Basic respect, dignity, and communication are a non-negotiable requirement for me. The moment I sense an issue I'll try to talk with you about it respectfully, but if I feel even slightly disregarded, I'm out!

I have an exact copy of Azula Adoulin on several major servers. The biggest motivation behind this is market access and the ability to bypass the congested server status for places such as Balmung. Ever since Dawntrail's release, it's been extremely difficult to visit certain servers during peak hours. It's nice being able to log on wherever I want, whenever I want. Thanks to social media, I also get to meet up with people from all over the world. It's a lot of fun to explore dance clubs in Europe or go on housing tours in Japan. I've even attended weddings abroad using my actual character. There's lots of fun benefits.

You're probably not going to like the answer to this question, but I have around 165 leveled and fully geared retainers.
I send them all out on 1-hour quick ventures and focus on venture coffer rewards. These often yield a set of pure white or jet black dye. I also have 40 Submarines that are sent on 36 hour voyages for salvaged items. I feel like I've unintentionally gone a little overboard with this, but I usually net around 600 million gil a month at full operation. I will state that I don't like it when people buy up full housing wards. I only have one house per datacenter with the exception of a few on Dynamis.

Oh, this is an easy one. I think everyone makes this mistake at least once. The absolute worst thing I've ever done is letting my casual interactions with people affect my real life. I let myself get attached, emotional, and involved on more than one occasion. I broke my own heart and allowed people to take advantage of me. This is actually why I created and exclusively use social media accounts under the username @familiarviera. I'm no longer sharing personal information or private real life accounts. I feel like I've got a pretty good handle on it these days, but what a terrible lesson I've had to learn.

I'm genuinely not trying to be rude, but if we barely know each other and you start asking me these types of questions, I'm probably going to put you at arm's length and slowly cut ties with you. Yes, I'm playing my part as a mythical girl on the internet, but Azula Adoulin is a fictional bunny girl in a video game and I'm an entirely different person online than I am in real life. Please moderate your expectations and feelings towards me. I don't like having my picture taken or sending selfies, but I have posted a few in Discord channels where other people have shared theirs. All of my listed family and close friends are people that I've actually known for at least 5-6 years. Most of them are also in my free company or part of an endgame static. I even hang out with some of them in real life. What I'm getting at, is that you have to be someone of long-term major importance in my life in order to end up on that list. Please don't take it personally or look too deeply into it. Truthfully, It used to be a little different, but it became too difficult to constantly add and remove people from it. Now it's just a list of family and close friends who have gone the distance with me.

When coming up with this character, I knew I wanted to go with a blue color scheme for her clothing. I also wanted to use blue fire effects with her and upon doing a little google research I was reminded of Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's actually a really pretty name and I feel like I'm in my mean girls era, so it was an easy adoption. The last name Adoulin is of course a homage to Final Fantasy XI. I played it for a number of years when I was much younger and wanted to honor my time in Vana'diel in my own way. Thankfully, we have a connecting raid series and Adoulin is officially mentioned in-game.

I absolutely love Final Fantasy XII. If I didn't make it painfully obvious, Fran is my favorite character of all time. Her design, voice, and backstory are truly unique. She really resonated with me on a personal level and I modeled some parts of my character after her. It's a little embarrassing to admit, but I also attribute my personal sexuality on the fact that I find both Balthier and Fran extremely attractive. Their confident personalities and physical appearances really did a number on me growing up. When Fran was introduced in Stormblood and the Viera race came out shortly after, I absolutely lost my mind.

Yes, everything you see on this website was created by myself. I went to school for Graphic Design and it's something that I do for fun in my spare time. I've probably spent over 2,000 hours working on everything you see here for Azula's character.
I use Adobe Creative Cloud applications for most of my projects. My website's assets and personal screenshots are done in Photoshop. The cartoon chibi emojis were done in illustrator then rasterized for photoshop. My YouTube and TikTok videos are done in Premiere Pro with After Effects. I'm always trying to keep up with technology and learn new techniques.
